Fine day. Before
breakfast I surface sowed
2 lbs of red clover seed about
the grass paddocks. Down to
office. Lunched with Eileen at
WFCA tea rooms. Not much
War news state that British
suffered a reverse from the
combined enemy forces in the
Mesopotamia campaign.
Rebellion in Ireland serious in
Dublin & British forces being
sent to quell the disturbance
also loyal Irish assisting the
Down to YMCA room at night
with Leo to the opening of our
chess season. There were 10
players present & teams were
chosen by Messrs G A Jones &
j Connell, the latters team win
ning by 3 games to 2. Leo & I
were the 2 to win for our side
Jones, Gupwell & Gandy losing.
Light supper about 10 pm. Home
about 11.30.
